San Juan

Working in Makati while living in Fairview gives me all the chance to snap the most random things that I get to see on my way to work.

One of the buildings that amazes me is the San Juan City Hall. The building looks so clean, simple, yet you know that it has some lavishness in it.

I should think that it is one of the good things that the Ejercito's have done in the city. The construction did not go smoothly though and that I am sure of because I saw some protesters outside the construction site. And until this very moment, I am still puzzled how the government of San Juan got rid of them.

Here is the photo of the said building with the photo title "San Juan."

iPhone Photography

iPhone Photography is the art of taking pictures using the iPhone. Gone are the days when phones were only used for sending SMS, making calls, and playing a game called "Snake." If you still do the three, you must be using the old Nokia 3210 which was state-of-the-art when I got hold of it for the first time in 2001.

Due to the development of smartphones, capable of doing an endless list of tasks, I can only count with my fingers the number of times I thought of buying a DSLR so I can venture into photography. I thought that having one is impractical because you don't get to snap photos of the most surprising moments in your life. These surprising moments are among a few of those memories you want to cherish.

Because of this, I thought of venturing into iPhone photography because of the convenience it gives when taking the most random photos of things and events.

My first photo for the iPhone photography project is entitled "Sandigan."

Sentro 1771: Where Good Friends Eat

Trisha in polka dots

Last night, I met up with my very good friend Trisha for dinner. We've noticed that we only get to see each other at least once a month given our busy schedules. She works as a flight attendant and most of the time her schedule does not jive so well with mine but when we get the chance to, we see to it that we hang out either for catharsis or for some good company. When I say good company, it also means eating and not being guilty about it.

It still amazes me how I lost almost 37 lbs in a span of 1 year and it also amazes me that I wore the same shirt on the same date just with a different year.

The photo on your left was taken at The Distillery along Jupiter Street last February 20, 2011.  That was the time I met up with my dorm-mates from college, Ivan and Dwight for a night of drinking.

The photo on the right was taken at Figaro in SM Megamall last February 20, 2012 when I met up with my BFF after she attended a wedding here in Manila. I wanted to bring her at the BGC but unfortunately her uncle was so strict that we should just hang out somewhere near Shangri-la EDSA.

I plan to lose more weight this year by following a healthy diet and be more serious with my exercise.  On a ligther note, I plan to wear the same shirt too on February 20, 2013 and I will post it here.

Wish me luck!

Christmas Parties Here There And Everywhere

Posted on Sunday, December 23, 2012 | 0 comments

Christmas is one of the most-awaited holidays in the Philippines.  During this time of the year, get-togethers and parties abound.  In fact, you seem to question statistics when they talk about the poverty level of our country.  You will be very surprised to see a lot of people in malls and restaurants.

This year, my  December weekends were packed with Christmas parties and I was very involved! It started off with the hospital-wide Christmas party themed “MMC Goes Global”.  I was part of the registration team during this event.  The whole time, I really thought it was going to be a fun role to play only to find out that we won’t have a good view of the presentations from the participating groups for the dance contest.
Last year, my group got the third place in the said competition.  This year, I opted not to join the contest because I wanted to concentrate on the other aspects of my life and just really avoid being stressed with late night practices.  At the back of my mind, I felt that I gave my all last year which gives me enough reason to just relax this year.  But my support to my team did not wane.  During their performance, all I did was scream at the top of my lungs to give my all-out support. And they won! Congratulations to the combined effort of the Laboratory and Pathology Department together with Radiology Department and  Corporate Health and Wellness of Makati Medical Center for winning 1st place in the yearly MMC Christmas Party Dance Contest in 2012!

Registration gates opened at five in the afternoon...
Most of the employees came early to  reserve the best seats for the party.

The next day, was the party of the Nuclear Medicine Department and I hosted the said event.  The theme of the party was Gangnam Style which explains the parade of colorful outfits!

Celeste, my co-host, wore the traditional costume of Korean women... I think she was rooting for  the Jewel-In-The-Palace look!

Orange burst!
Not so sure why I posed this way!!!! Sooo not me! Hahahaha! =)
For some unknown reasons, I dont know why I did this... =) Hahaha!

I still managed to squeeze in some more partying at Izumi with The Dolls because I have not seen them for the longest time.  Let’s say a month or so, and I miss them badly!

The third Christmas party that I went to this year was the Christmas party of the Service Operations and Quality Management where we danced Tiny Bubbles and Oppa Gangnam Style.  The best part of the night was when I get to touch the “okra” of the boys! I had so much fun playing the game… I’m sure the boys felt the same way!

Please explain this... Hahaha! =))

To be continued…

September marks the start of the Christmas season but for me it starts after Halloween.
