The Day I Got My Velvet Planner from Starbucks

Posted on Friday, December 31, 2010 | 2 comments
Yes! The week is over... Three days of work was not so difficult to bear because I can even take 6 days of work per week... I cannot complain because this is what I have prayed for my whole life.... And I have waited for this for the longest time...

I got my Starbucks planner for 2011 (I got the VELVET one!) and I told myself that I should fill it up with my thoughts... Maybe it can lessen the stress I had to go through for saying yes to all the invites... I still need to practice the art of saying NO.

Auntie Jewel just came back from Siaton and brought with her so much stories... Some stories stressed the hell out of her though.

Sir Yon and I had a little misunderstanding but we were able to settle it before the day ended. He apologized for such a maligning comment which he thought was funny...

I'm sleeping at Gj's place... I wanted to sleep in my bed... Gj and I thought that we can still ask permission earlier tonight coz we had plans of going out... But unfortunately, Auntie Jewel started talking about her Siaton experiences which made us stay at home... Anyway, we enjoyed chitchatting after dinner so it was worth staying at home tonight...

Looking forward to a great long weekend... I'm sure by Monday... I'd be craving for more vacation...

I need to start planning for my party at Distillery next Saturday! =)

Desperate Christmas...

Posted on Monday, December 27, 2010 | 0 comments
I was ecstatic the whole week because I was looking forward to a 4-day vacation and the Christmas bonus... Too bad I did not get the latter but who cares... I just needed to see the brighter side of things...

Many things happened the whole week before Christmas...

  • My Uncle James arrived from France and gave me a new bag because he does not like the shiny bag that I have always used for work... Of course, I had to reason out that I like my shiny bag because everything just fits there... I can carry my whole life on my shoulders for the rest of the week... I can even bring with me our neighbors...

  • The night he arrived, he made it an issue that I always prioritize my friends ... And I became paranoid because I still have plans of asking something from him which might make it impossible to get given that I already have negative points from him since I always go out and party...

  • My patient for WBC tagging had a cardiac arrest... And so the senior nurse had to do the pumping inside the elevator on our way to the patients room... Good thing the senior nurse was really good and called for a MAXICART... What was nice? I saw my resident crushes there - Dr. Ybanez and that tall doctor he always goes around with... And they were very surprised that I was there... But seeing the relatives of the patient in such state pains my heart... Another good thing? The patient was revived... All the running was really toxic... But it felt good after the patient showed signs of cardiac activity...=)

  • Trisha and Ervy were at Glorietta but the moment I replied that I was dropping by, they were already at The Fort having coffee... I really tried my best to be very patient but to no avail... Taxis were very full and buses are not very nice options I should say... Hence, the cancellation of my appearance at the coffee shop... I just thought it was too inconvenient and unfair... I think its about time that they choose a coffee shop near MMC so I don't have to brave the Metro Manila traffic.

  • I bought gifts for my cousins at Trinoma after having my own cup of coffee alone... It was my second time to do it alone and I think I might do it more often... I'll just make sure that I have enough battery to entertain me coz it really gets boring at some point...

The whole day before Christmas... I was just home... I ate all the food that I thought was yummy... I also ate a lot of chocolates and COMBOS!!! I just dint like it much this time because the cheese was wrapped with pretzels...

It became a desperate Christmas because I watched the first ten episodes of Desperate Housewives season four...I just learned today that Season 4 has 17 episodes and the DVD I bought only had 10... And there were occasional cuts on the sound... Sometimes the actors just start becoming mute... I was very patient though because I thought that its about time that I de-stress myself...

The Reason Why Desperate Housewives Is Worth Your Time

Times have changed... I kinda like older men these days... I like them with a lot of experience...

Parties are everywhere! As in literally... And I think that I have been very non-existent in so many parties... I am kinda choosy now... Going only to parties that require my presence and parties that I really want to be in...

The Manager's Council which I'm not supposed to be in was my first christmas party for the season... I was there because my friends were all managers and we danced Alejandro for the party.... The dance was not so good since we dint have much time to practice... But nevertheless, the performance was good for the party...

This party was for the Nuclear Medicine Department... We wore different headdresses for the night since we were asked to... But the rest of the fun happened at Pier One... Because we played games there and people were really cool and everyone cooperated... I think they cooperated because of the money we were giving to the winners... =)

There were other parties which were not documented through pictures but it surely was a lot of fun... In fact... I have another party later... =)

Tubby Meets Fujiko

Posted on Sunday, December 5, 2010 | 4 comments

Trisha and Appy, used to tell me that I look like Tubby Tompkins. Appy being Little Lulu and Trisha as herself, always chuckle when they see me wearing shorts and my fitted shirts.

Hence, I got curious and looked for a photo of Tubby Tompkins because when I was a child I was more exposed to Mara Clara and Villa Quintana. I was not too fond of cartoons except for those Tom and Jerry classics as well as Casper.

Tom & Jerry because most of my classmates watch it and I feel uncool if I dont get to watch it too. Casper because he is such a friendly ghost.

But in real life, more than anything else I think I am more of Fujiko than Tubby Tompkins.

Happy Birthday Cheska!!! =)

Cheska in such wild colors gladly posed with her "reservation name" at The Distillery.

We girls loved our Bacardi shots! =)

Cheska, Trisha, Nikki, Vitori, and JM

JM just arrived from London and before going to The Distillery she donned some artsy fartsy clothes while we were sipping coffee at Starbucks Greenbelt. However, Trisha had to conceptualize her outfit because she'd look different in a sea of stilettos that could kill. Hence, she wore this green dress which mopped the entrance floors of the place after passing out due to too much drinking. Right now, she's back in UK doing what she does best - BANKING! =)

Nikki, Vitori, and Tanya

I used my see-thru Ray Bans. The whole night all the girls were taking pictures of themselves wearing it. It loved the attention the Ray Bans were getting but wearing it made me feel dizzy. ♥♥♥

Niña's Birthday Dinner at Gilligans! =)

Posted on Sunday, September 19, 2010 | 6 comments
Alvin, Mickey, Niña T., and Vitori

Straight from duty, we went to Gilligans Glorietta4 to celebrate Niña E.'s birthday. Niña T. and I actually agreed not to bring extra clothes because the birthday girl had the same plans. I was very surprised when Nina E. told everyone that she'll change clothes. On the other hand, I just don't know why Alvin and Mickey dint bring extra clothes too. Maybe they were too lazy.

Vitori, Niña E. (THE BIRTHDAY GIRL!), Nelsie, and Terry

On the other side of the table were my first MMC friends Niña E., Nelsie, and Terry. We met during the initial interview and fortunately, we had chemistry so we decided to befriend each other. HAHAHA!!! =) We were the noisiest that time even though we were too anxious for the interview results.

Terj

The last person who arrived was Terj. He was late because he was trying to figure out what clothes to wear for this "momentous occasion." He wanted his outfit to be LOOKBOOK -worthy! =) But in the picture above, he showed some bitterness by biting on the ampalaya! KIDDING!

Nina E. "Ze Birzday Gurl"

The birthday celebration wouldn't be complete without the birthday cake! So we got her the rarest birthday cake in the market today... something from Red Ribbon.

But I'd say that last Friday night was the shortest and fastest get-together we ever had. The Happy Shiny People don't go home at 9 in the evening- we go home at 4 or 5am! But we were too responsible, some of us have work the following day so we had to wrap it up early.

Anyway, we still had fun but it was just too short. See you guys on the next birthday gathering... =) I hope that those who were not able to come will be present on the future get-togethers...

Thank you Niña for the birthday treat! =) We had fun... Only that the white uniform hindered me from doing anything that's too foolish... =) We have learned our lesson... We should all bring extra clothes... ALL THE TIME! =))

Happy Birthday Nins and welcome back to the workforce!!! ♥♥♥

Vitori's Take on Globe Text Promos

Being a Globe Prepaid Subscriber, I think I am the only person among my friends who seem to have a penchant in registering to its different call and text promos.

Right now, I am addicted to All Text 20 (ATXT20) which allows you to send 200 text messages to all local networks. Its good because my BFF, Franceska and my Platonic Lover, Trisha, are both SUN Cellular subscribers. However, I don't like the idea that its just good for one day. Two days could've have been much better. This text/SMS promo is endorsed by Vice Ganda with the cameo appearance of my new crushie Mikael Daez. However, with this promo. I usually don't get to use all the 200 messages because when I'm in front of my laptop, I tend to neglect my phone.

"The service that needs a lot patience because it ain't easy to register and make a call."

Another text offer that I constantly attempt to subscribe on is the Super Unlimited Call and Text Promo (SUPER25). It allows you to call and text without limit to your Globe and TM subscribing friends in one day for the low low price of Php 25. However, justl like the ATXT20 Promo, I think I am not able to use the service much because my phone battery drains faster with all the calling and tweeting that I do.

"Trisha--- My Platonic Lover!"

On the other hand, if there is one Globe Text Promo that I want them to bring back then that would be the Immortal Text (IMMORTALTXT). Because with this service, my Php 40 load would last for more than a week or so. I think this service is the most practical if you're not much of a "texting" person.

I still love Globe but I just wish they'd bring back the IMMORTALTXT... That's the cheapskate-slash-pragmatist in me airing my SMS thoughts.

Vitori Made Colorful Desserts

We made this colorful and yummy dessert for my cousin Mitzi, who celebrated her birthday yesterday.

The Bachelor

Posted on Sunday, September 5, 2010 | 10 comments

I was shocked when Nelsie, one of my first friends in MakatiMed, got this thickly-bound colorful pages from a piece of plastic that she was holding. Voila! These sinful pages are filled with half-naked men in it.

While still in awe of what I was seeing, she pointed at a familiar face in of its pages. His boyfriend who happens to be my crush -The Innocent, Paul Innocencio is on Cosmopolitan Magazines 69 Gorgeous Bachelors for 2010.

I was not very suprised instead it felt amazing that I was given the chance to meet and share some of my thoughts to this person before the whole country feasted on him.

I also found out that Desiree's hubby, Raefel, used to be on the said list too. And so, I told myself that I need an equally hot boyfriend then. Since, I'm done with crushing on Marc Nelson, my eyes are set on Fred Uytengsu, the President of the Alaska Milk Corporation. However, after further research, I found out that he is married to his "college sweetheart", Kerri, and they have three children.

I will just take his background as a challenge. You know me, I don't take the easier route!

Vitori Is A Building

"My Hopefully Healthy Heart"

At exactly 11:52 pm today, I have accepted the fact that I am hypertensive. I took my first dose of Amlodipine (Provasc) as prescribed by my cardiologist, Dr. Sensano of Makati Medical Center (MMC).

Last Wednesday, I was scheduled for a check-up due to my persistent blood pressure elevation. It is nothing MAJOR MAJOR - just a blood pressure reading that doesn't go lower than 130/90 but does not go higher than 140/100. I like how my physician explained the whole thing. Perhaps his experience at explaining the disease process made him say it better than anybody else.

He compared my body to a building which has a pump that makes the delivery of water to its highest floors possible. Hence, if too much unhealthy pressure is present on the pipes then follows its highest tendency to burst. In a building it can cause discomforts but if it happens to the human body, it can cost him his life.

It has been five days since I bought the medication from the nearest Mercury Drug Store and I feel stubbornly guilty that I just took it earlier. Add up all the heavy meals I've had for the "un-medicated" days. Name it all - pizza, pork barbecue, scrambled eggs and too much rice.

"Enough of these lazy days!"

Anyway, I think I realized that it wasnt such a very good idea to continue living an unhealthy lifestyle. So for tomorrow, I will try to do something good for my body. I'll stop being such a couch-potato and I'll try to eat healthy.

As they say, big steps starts with baby steps.

Plants Vs. Zombies does not go well with Scrambled Eggs!

I became dizzy after playing Plants vs. Zombies for 3 hours andI think eating scrambled eggs after that did not make me feel better. =)

Why don't you give it a try and we'll see...

Vitori Conquers The Universe

Posted on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 | 8 comments

Since Miss Philippines, Venus Raj, did not succeed in conquering the universe then I think I should take steps to do it myself.

Miss Universe makes me miss my Mom so much. We had our late night discussions about the said beauty contest while I was in grade school which could be a factor why I am a butterfly right now.

Since I painstakingly recorded and used the playback feature of my state-of-the-art phone to put into writing the Q&A portion of the Miss Universe 2010 Pageant, I think it deserves some attention and must be made immortal.

Mr. William Baldwin asked this question, "What is one big mistake that you've made in your life and what did you do to make it right?"

Miss Venus Raj answered him confidently and said, "Thank you so much Sir for that wonderful question. Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Good evening Las Vegas. You know what Sir, in my 22 years of existence, I can say that there is nothing MAJOR MAJOR I mean problem that i have to (correct?) in my life because I am very confident with my family and the love that they are giving to me. So thank you so much that I am here. Thank you, thank you so much."

In as much as I would like to criticize her answer, I just thought I don't have the right to because while I was trying to construct an answer for the question I am not able to think clearly as well. Hence, I accepted Venus Raj excuse.

On the other hand, I asked my friends to answer the same question and here are their answers.

"The funniest answer I got was from Ricci Chan."

We're left without a choice but to accept the fact that, Miss Mexico is the new Miss Universe 2010 and this was her winning question:

"In your opinion, what effect does unsupervised internet use have on today's youth?"

And her answer was translated in verbatim, "Good evening Las Vegas. I do believe that the internet is an indespensible necessary tool for the present time. And we must be very careful and watch over what our children watch and see, our teenagers watch and see and we must be sure to teach them the values that we learn as a family. So that they may use the internet properly. Gracias!"

And the winner is ---- Miss Mexico!

What I think about winning? Winning is overrated. The only time it is really important is in surgery and war. What do you think?

Tin's Send-Off Party and Happy Shiny People's Anniversary Celebration!!!

Posted on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 | 8 comments

"We consider this place as our HOME!"

Last Friday was Tin's Send-Off Party and at the same time the Happy Shiny People's 1st Anniversary at The Distillery in Makati City. We all agreed to celebrate it there because since the time we brought that place pumping and got ourselves all wasted while being carried by the bar's bouncers, they have always given us the VIP treatment.

"Absolut-ly Fabulous Tin"

Tin got everyone in the mood for some fun fun fun when she started pouring Absolut Citron Vodka on our glasses. Then the cameras started clicking as the music and the alcohol started seeping on our system.

"The very rare Nelsie graced the event with handsome boyfriend in pink stripes Pong."
"Cheska and Trisha, my college friends, came to party with us."

"Niña, who hurriedly drove to The Distillery straight from duty, showed her flower power"

"Terry, who just recovered from Chicken Pox without a single scar, gladly drank tequila with Vitori."

"Peter Jade, my Fashion Profiles model, gamely posed for the camera."

"The Surprise Send-Off Gift was a Scarf from Accessorize"

Based on the picture below, I think Tin enjoyed the night or you'll be the judge... =))

Tin, we'll be looking forward for more pictures like this in Canada and if in case you relive it there... We'll be waiting for you here! =) We love you so much...

Motherly Vitori and His Secret Recipe

Posted on Thursday, August 12, 2010 | 21 comments

"Mothers do extra-ordinary things in their own simple ways."

Motherly duties are not at all my forte. I can take minimal motherly tasks though like doing the dishes (my own but is negotiable) and the laundry (my own and will never change)!

I was home alone the whole day because my Uncle had to go to his friends house and his wife's store. So I had to fend for myself. Cook my own food and take care of his kids. Take note. Take care of his kids and that includes cooking dinner for them. I did not realize that those motherly instincts can resurface at any given time.

"I should've made my life easier by ordering french fries from the nearest McDonalds!"

As soon as the kids arrived from school, they asked me if I know how to cook French Fries and of course I said YES without any hesitation! Time for dinner and my Uncle has not arrived yet, they asked what's for dinner. Hence, I cooked rice, re-fried the fish I found on the fridge, reheated the vegetables and sauteed some Purefoods Corned Beef with Magic Sarap and Star Margarine (Iwas just experimenting.) But the kids liked it or maybe they were left without a choice.

"Gourmet Corned Beef Ingredients"

It did not end there. While watching my daily dose of Magkaribal, I saw my cousin Mitzi working hard on her t-shirt design project. She was meticulously and painstakingly inserting the needle with a thread on the littlest hole on that sequin. So I decided to help her out with the flower and Philippine map painting to save her from doing more mess on her designs.
"Good thing Mitzi did not do the same thing on her hands."

At the end of the day, I smiled at myself because I think I've done a pretty good job! (Applause please!)
